Drawbridge Rehabilitation Route 99 over the Mystic River

SPS has started construction of this 4 leaf bascule bridge lift span replacement valued at $50 million. The bridge, which carries Route 99 from Everett into Sullivan Square will be completed in 2 phases, replacing 7 approach spans in their entirety with new abutments and pier caps, and complete replacement of the 4 leaf bascule structure including the structural steel framework and all mechanical and electrical components. SPS’s marine terminal on Island End River is serving as a key strategic property for storage and transportation of materials and equipment by barge to the project site.
