SPS specializes in all types of bridge construction, from simple span bridges over land to moveable span bridges over deep water.
SPS is a leader in the Massachusetts Design Build Arena, having successfully completed 2 design build projects, with 4 active projects in various stages of construction.
SPS now operates out of a high quality marine terminal on the Island End River in Everett, MA with a deep water port link direct to Boston Harbor.
SPS is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) to install a 100 kilowatt Wind Turbine at the Kingston MBTA Station.
The 120 foot tall wind turbine which includes three 35 foot long blades will generate enough energy to cover 65 percent of the power for the parking lot, platform lighting and plug-ins for locomotives at the Kingston station facility. Construction will begin next month.

On November 18, 2011, both Route 2 Eastbound and Westbound traffic was successfully shifted into the projects Phase 2 configuration. This milestone, was part of the of the $11 Million Dollar, twin bridge replacement project on Route 2 over Route 140 and the result of SPS’s innovation and a Value Engineering Change Proposal (VECP) that reduced the project duration by one entire year. This was accomplished by redesigning one of the two bridge structures to eliminate an entire phase of bridge work and a large portion of temporary roadway.
SPS New England’s “Heavy Lift” Design Build project in Phillipston, MA has been chosen as one of the top ten projects in the country by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) as part of the 2011 American Transportation Awards competition.
