Westminster Project on Track to Finish 1 Year Ahead of Schedule
Using the design-build concept, MassDOT, SPS and its design partner, Vanasse Hangen Brustlin (VHB) focused its planning and design on the Critical Path elements which allowed construction to being early in the 2011 construction season as the structure was still being designed. Through constant communication with MassDOT and their consultant LIN Associates, the SPS team was able to finalize critical design components in time to maintain a steady flow of work culminating with the Phase 1 Traffic Switch.
SPS is also extremely proud of the fact that the phase was completed safely, without a single lost time injury. This is a tribute to the SPS Safety Program and each and every employee making safety its top priority.
Phase 2 demolition has started as SPS continues to push forward with the Goal of having another successful, SAFE and productive 2012 season.
